FIRE WEATHER WATCH EAST SIERRA FRONT

... Fire Weather Watch in effect from Friday afternoon through
Friday evening for thunderstorms and strong outflow winds for the
Sierra front... 

The National Weather Service in Reno has issued a Fire Weather
Watch for thunderstorms and strong outflow winds... which is in
effect from Friday afternoon through Friday evening.

* Affected area... fire zone 450 western Nevada Sierra front.

* Thunderstorms... developing in the early afternoon and continuing
into Friday evening. Storms will be a combination of wet and dry. 

* Outflow winds... erratic gusts to 50 mph near any thunderstorms.

* Impacts... lightning may create new fire starts and combine 
with strong outflow winds to produce rapid fire growth.


A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions
are possible. Check weather.Gov/Reno for updates and possible red
flag warnings.

COMBINE WITH UNSTABLE AIR TO PRODUCE SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS ON
FRIDAY. STORMS OVER EASTERN NEVADA FRIDAY ARE EXPECTED TO BRING
WETTING RAINS...HOWEVER STORMS IN CENTRAL NEVADA SHOULD BE
DRY...AT LEAST THROUGH THE LATE AFTERNOON.

WATCH FOR DRY THUNDERSTORMS AND GUSTY OUTFLOW WINDS...WHICH IS IN
EFFECT FROM FRIDAY MORNING THROUGH FRIDAY EVENING.

* AFFECTED AREA:
  FIRE WEATHER ZONE 454 CENTRAL LANDER AND EUREKA COUNTIES

  FIRE WEATHER ZONE 457 LANDER/EUREKA COUNTIES SOUTH OF HIGHWAY
  50 PLUS NORTHERN NYE COUNTY AND

  FIRE WEATHER ZONE 468 EASTERN HUMBOLDT COUNTY AND NORTHWESTERN
  ELKO COUNTY.

* THUNDERSTORM COVERAGE...SCATTERED DRY THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE
  POSSIBLE FROM LATE MORNING THROUGH LATE EVENING FRIDAY. STORMS
  MAY TRANSITION TO WET BY THE LATE AFTERNOON OR EVENING
  ESPECIALLY ACROSS EASTERN PORTIONS OF THE AFFECTED ZONES.

* OUTFLOW WINDS...WITH GUSTS UP TO 50 MPH ARE POSSIBLE.

* IMPACTS...LIGHTNING MAY CREATE NEW FIRE STARTS AND COMBINE
  WITH STRONG OUTFLOW WINDS TO PRODUCE RAPID FIRE GROWTH.
