Ken Fire CA- BDF-015694 Kenwood, San Bernardino County FRA

Update 11-13 1100: 7 acres, 100% contained
Update 11-13 0900: -Fire burned approximately 10 acres, and is 50% contained
Incident is in patrol and mop up phase with day shift ground resources assigned.
Road Closures: CalTrans and the California Highway Patrol closed the right two lanes on the freeway due to the fire during Tuesday evening.

Incident Overview
A series of small fires erupted at 4:30PM along the right shoulder of northbound Interstate 15 north of the Kenwood exit on Tuesday afternoon. Initially the fire had a moderate rate of spread and was threatening homes in the area. An immediate decisive and aggressive attack by firefighters from the Forest Service CAL FIRE San Bernardino County and San Bernardino City Fire responded and held the fire at seven acres.

Fuels: - Grass
Situation Comments: - The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Additional Resource Notes: - Forest Service night flying Air Attack and night flying helicopter responded to the incident to provide support to firefighters on the ground.
