LODD: CAL FIRE Heavy Equipment Operator Gordie Varney


CDF Firefighters Local 2881 is saddened report the loss of one of their own in the line of duty.

CAL FIRE Heavy Fire Equipment Operator Gordie F. Varney, 55, passed away on Sunday, March 11, 2012.
Brother Varney died of job-related colon cancer.
Memorial

A Memorial Service is planned for next week to honor Brother Varney.
WHEN: Sunday, March 25, 2012 at 1:00 p.m.
WHERE: Mariposa Fairgrounds, 5007 Fairgrounds Road, Mariposa, California 95338; (209) 966-2432.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
-- Attire: Station or work uniforms -- no Class As
-- Apparatus: There will be no apparatus procession or display.
Please do not bring apparatus.
