OFFSHORE WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO BE A BIT STRONGER OVERNIGHT INTO FRIDAY WITH WIDESPREAD SINGLE DIGIT HUMIDITIES.
THE STRONGEST WINDS WILL OCCUR IN THE MOUNTAINS OF LOS ANGELES COUNTY WHERE GUSTS AS HIGH AS 45 MPH CAN BE EXPECTED.
THIS IN COMBINATION WITH A LONG DURATION OF SINGLE DIGIT HUMIDITIES HAS PROMPTED THE ISSUANCE OF A RED FLAG WARNING FOR THE LOS ANGELES COUNTY MOUNTAINS INCLUDING THE SANTA MONICA RANGE.
OFFSHORE WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO DIMINISH ON SATURDAY.
HOWEVER SINGLE DIGIT HUMIDITIES ARE EXPECTED TO CONTINUE ACROSS MANY AREAS. IN ADDITION VERY POOR HUMIDITY RECOVERIES CAN BE EXPECTED TONIGHT AND FRIDAY NIGHT ACROSS THE MOUNTAINS AND FOOTHILLS AS WELL AS WIND PRONE AREAS.
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN LOS ANGELES/OXNARD HAS ISSUED A RED FLAG WARNING FOR GUSTY NORTHEAST WINDS AND VERY LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY
WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM THIS EVENING TO 6 PM PST FRIDAY.
THE FIRE WEATHER WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.
WINDS: NORTHEAST 15 TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 45 MPH STRONGEST THROUGH PASSES AND CANYONS.
RELATIVE HUMIDITY: A LONG DURATION OF SINGLE DIGIT HUMIDITIES ARE EXPECTED WITH HUMIDITY LEVELS AS LOW AS 5 PERCENT.
