Coalinga Fire Department and Coalinga Firefighters Association regret to announce the loss of one of their own.
Firefighter Jonathan Terra passed away December 8th 2011 at the age of 36. “Johnny” had been involved with the department since he was 8 years old.
For the past five years, Brother Terra served as a Firefighter/EMT with the Coalinga Fire Department. Prior to that, he spent 13 years as a volunteer firefighter/EMT.
Brother Terra was also involved in the Coalinga Firefighters Association and Coalinga Fireman’s Club as secretary/treasurer, and helped organize many of the annual events that the club and department sponsored.
Memorial Services
Services will be held on Friday December 16th, 2011 at Faith Fellowship Church at 11am.
There will also be a fire apparatus procession from the church to the cemetery.
All fire departments are encouraged to send personnel or apparatus to participate.

The Coalinga Fire Department (CFD) was established in 1903. The CFD was all volunteered until 1906, when the city hired a full time Fire Chief. Today, the CFD is a combination department, with 20 full-time and 11 reserve personnel.
