 The 30-inch pipe that had exploded Thursday in a plume of fire. The force of the explosion blew the 40-foot-long pipe, which had been buried four feet below a sidewalk, 100 feet away. Knudson said the agency would be remove the pipe and excavate for other pieces.

Cause: Suspected as a natural gas main pipeline explosion, which erupted in a San Bruno neighborhood  Thursday killing four.
Note: Numerous San Bruno residents had smelled gas for weeks and the leak went unchecked even PG&E and been seen in the area. .
Location: Skyline Boulevard and Sneath Lane.
Deaths: Four residents.
Damages: 32 homes destroyed The massive explosion, which was heard for miles, was due to a gas line
