Local authorities in San Bruno, California, report that dozens of homes were destroyed in the accident. The extent of injuries and possible fatalities is still being assessed.
Ravi Chhatre will serve as Investigator-in-Charge for the 4-member team from the NTSB. The Board's Vice Chairman, Christopher Hart, is accompanying the team and will serve as principle spokesman for the on-scene investigation.
