SQF NF: Forest Service adds 600 acres to Western Divide

SEQUOIA NATIONAL FOREST — Forest officials announce the addition of almost 600 acres to the Western Divide Ranger District on the Sequoia National Forest, Giant Sequoia National Monument.

The purchase of the “Upper Grouse Valley” properties occurred in five separate increments over the past eight years for a total of nearly $2.28 million.

A public meeting is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. July 2, at the Springville Veterans Memorial Building. District Ranger Priscilla Summers will show a slide presentation with information about the Upper Grouse Valley facilities.
