THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN HANFORD CA HAS ISSUED A * SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING FOR... SOUTHWESTERN TULARE COUNTY IN CENTRAL CALIFORNIA... THIS INCLUDES THE CITY OF PORTERVILLE... * UNTIL 115 PM PST * AT 1204 PM PST... NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM CAPABLE OF PRODUCING NICKEL SIZE HAIL. THIS STORM WAS LOCATED 26 MILES WEST OF PORTERVILLE...OR 17 MILES SOUTHWEST OF TULARE...AND MOVING EAST AT 25 MPH. * THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WILL BE NEAR... 6 MILES SOUTH OF PORTERVILLE BY 100 PM PST...

DOPPLER RADAR HAS INDICATED SOME WEAK ROTATION WITHIN THIS STORM. WHILE NOT IMMEDIATELY LIKELY...A TORNADO MAY STILL DEVELOP. IF A TORNADO IS SPOTTED... ACT QUICKLY AND MOVE TO A PLACE OF SAFETY IN A STURDY STRUCTURE...SUCH AS A BASEMENT OR SMALL INTERIOR ROOM.
