UPDATE: 11-15 14:57hrs - 20 30% contaiment. Press conference at High school - 100' - 200' flame lengths last night, 124 homes saved! 540 of 600 homes in mobile home park destroyed.

UPDATE: 11-15 09:57hrs - Virtually all of the 600 homes in the Oakridge Mobile Home Park have been destroyed, and streets signs in the park had been melted by flames when 70 mph winds blew through the area.

Evacuation centers: San Fernando Senior High School, 11133 O'Melveny Ave., Chatsworth High School, 10027 Lurline Ave., and at Kennedy High School, 11254 Gothic Ave. The evacuation center at Sylmar High School is full.

Animal evacuations: Large animals can be taken to Hansen Dam; smaller animals can be taken to the Mission area, or to Sylmar High or San Fernando High football fields.

11-15 07:57hrs - Humidity is currently 8% - Fire has spotted over I-5 burning on both sides and west into Sesnon burn. 65 structures destroyed, 100+ structures damaged. Reports of 2 firefighter injuries at this time.
Conserve Power - City officials are urging Los Angeles residents to conserve power today after they took the rare step of deactivating some transmission lines in the Sylmar fire zone out of fear that winds could blow them down and cause more blazes. The Department of Water and Power said transmission lines along the Interstate 5 corridor north of Sylmar were taken out of service this morning. These lines are considered a major source of imported power to Los Angeles from power plants outside California.

UPDATE: 11-15 07:57hrs - 2600 acres, winds up to 70 mph, 600+firefighters, 200 LAPD officers, dozens of homes burned, 5000 people evacuated, 1 injury was reported — a 40-year-old man who suffered serious burns

Initial Sizeup: 10:29 - First in LACO reports 25-30 acres, Large Fire visible from a distance. Rapid ROS.
Current sizeup: 8000+ acres, numerous structures burning(5) and or threatened, KTLA television showed huge flames topping a ridge in the Angeles National Forest on the outskirts of Sylmar at about 11 p.m

Los Angeles County is under a red flag warning of gusty winds and extreme fire danger until Saturday afternoon. The National Weather Service says winds are gusting up to 60 mph in the Sylmar area.
TFR: Temporary flight restriction 5 mile radius from center of Pacoima Reservoir to 10,000 ft. has been requested.
Injuries: 4 minor Firefighter injuries
