CA-VNC- South Mountain - 30 acres 75%

Wildland Vegetation Fire burning on South Mountain near Santa Paula. The fire has burned approximately 30 acres and is being driven by sustained winds of 20 mph, with gusts to 25 mph.. South Mountain Rd at 12 street. Fire being pushed by 20-25mph winds.
Structure Threat: Structures are threatened in oil facilities on the mountain and structure protection is being put into place. The fire is approximately 75 percent contained.
Resources:
CDF Type-3 strike team just sent ST9460C . Ventura County with full response. 200 Firefighters from Ventura County, Santa Paula, Ventura City and Cal Fire and helicopters from the Ventura County Sheriff's Dept have arrived on scene to begin an air attack. ,
Location: Area of 12th Street and lemon Company Rd. / South Mountain Rd at 12 street.
Initial Attack: New start, Ventura County on scene reporting 2 to 3 acres, Dispatched Monday morning at 3:35 am.
Evacuations: None at this time. If evacuations are necessary, that information will be posted here as soon as possible.
Road Closures: There is very heavy fire traffic on 12th Street and South Mountain Road. Please avoid these areas to allow fire vehicles the access they need.
Notes: Incident Commanders on the fire are requesting that South Mountain avocado growers with property from Texaco Canyon west to Saticoy turn on their orchard irrigation systems.

Extreme fire danger today! Please use caution and report any suspicious activity to your local authorities
