Telegraph Fire Burning Outside of Yosemite National Park

Telegraph Fire - Update: 7-28-08 1400 hrs - Highway 140 closed- According to Sue Exline of the Sierra National Forest the fire is eight miles from El Portal, 12 miles from Arch Rock and 15-18 miles from Yosemite Valley.
Telegraph fire is getting very active, Highway 140 closed- CHP was escorting vehicles, now hard closure due to fire activity a Hard closure placed on 140 near Briceburg bridge, Fire is impinging on highway 140 along a Two mile stretch northeast of Briceburg bridge towards Yosemite park. Fire is threat to jump highway 140 towards park...

The current fire situation is as follows (as of 7/28 at 6:30am)
Acreage: 26,130 acres
Containment: 10%

Yosemite National Park roads, trails, and services are open.

Regional air quality may be compromised due to the fire, with hazy conditions throughout parts of the park.
