Summary

Fire is located in the San Jacinto Wilderness. Winds have died down. There are no evacuations in place. The San Jacinto Wilderness and Mt. San Jacinto State Park are closed until further notice. The Devil's Slide, Spitler Peak, Southridge, Fobes Ranch, and Cedar Springs trails and a section of the Pacific Crest Trail are closed until further notice. The Palm Springs Tramway and adjacent Long Valley area remain open. Full containment predicted for May 4, 2008.

All crews are spiked out for two consecutive day shifts. Most crews will be flown out at the end of the second day shift, and other crews will remain spiked for an additional two shifts.

Overnight the weather is expected to be a low of 42 degrees with winds out of the west at 6 mph and a relative humidity of 35%.
