[EDIS] Fire weather watch in effect from Tuesday afternoon through Tuesday evening for Imperial county... eastern Riverside county... and Joshua tree national park
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PHOENIX HAS ISSUED A FIRE WEATHER WATCH... WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM TUESDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH TUESDAY EVENING...DUE TO STRONG WEST WINDS AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY. LOCATIONS IN THIS WATCH INCLUDE IMPERIAL AND EASTERN RIVERSIDE COUNTIES...JOSHUA TREE NATIONAL PARK...AND THE LOWER COLORADO RIVER VALLEY IN SOUTHEAST CALIFORNIA. A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL AFFECT THE SOUTHWEST UNITED STATES TUESDAY. STRONG WESTERLY WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP TUESDAY AFTERNOON... WITH SUSTAINED SPEEDS OF 20 TO 30 MPH AND GUSTS TO 40 MPH POSSIBLE. IN ADDITION... DRY AIR WILL LEAD TO RELATIVE HUMIDITY VALUES BETWEEN 5 AND 15 PERCENT. THE COMBINATION OF STRONG WINDS AND LOW HUMIDITY MAY CREATE HAZARDOUS FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS.
