Fire Strikes Propane Facility In East Sonora
Story at: MML.comSonora, CA -- Firefighters responded to a 1:01am fire today that damaged the main building and destroyed three sheds and two vehicles at the Durnall-Campora Propane facility on Industrial Drive west of Standard Rd. on the south side of Mono Way.
Tuolumne County Fire Department Spokesperson Steve Gregory states the fire was reported by the Sheriff's Department. The fire spread to two to three acres of vegetation. Containment was reached at 3:30.
Resources included one battalion chief and six Cal Fire engines. From the Tuolumne County Fire Department: two engines, three water tenders and the breathing support unit. One truck from Sonora City Fire Department and two baseline fire crews also responded.
No firefighter injuries were reported. Cause of the fire will be determined by Cal Fire Investigator Rommie Jones. Sgt. Jim Oliver of the Tuolumne County Sheriff's Department reports that initially the area will be treated as a crime scene.
