SoCal IMT2 (Fogle) in command - FRA/SRA

  • Gasex (Avalanche Control Devices) log cabin mine site which contains hazardous materials structurally unstable.
  • Expected thunderstorms Potential for debris and mud flow from predicted thunderstorm outflow and wetting  rain
  • SoCal IMT2 (Fogle) closeout on 07/01/2016 at 0900 at Mammoth Lakes
  • Commitment of Forest Service air and ground resources

    06/27/2016 1830: 654 Acres, 61% Contained

    • Minimal fire growth anticipated.
    • Continued threat to Tioga Lodge, High Sierra Shrimp Plant, Mono Inn and Sage Grouse Habitat
      Big Horn sheep habitat, Lee Vining, and electric transmission lines.
    • As of 0800 all evacuations have been lifted.
    • Hwy395 has been reopened in both directions.
    • Mono County Sheriffs is no longer in Unified Command with USFS.

    06/26/2016 0830: 819 Acres, 30% Contained.

    • Threat to Tioga Lodge, High Sierra Shrimp Plant, Mono Inn and Sage Grouse Habitat
    • Hwy 395 closed Between Lee Vining and Highway 167 with
    Periodic escorted one-lane traffic
    Power outages reported North of Lee Vining
    Commitment of Forest Service air and ground resources

    06/25/2016 0830: 600 Acres, 5% Contained
    • Southern California Type 2 Team (Fogle) activated.
      In-brief Lee Vining Community Center, Saturday 25 June, time 1400.
    • Threat to Tioga Lodge, High Sierra Plant, and Mono Inn.
    • Hwy 395 closed
    • Power outages reported North of Lee Vining.
    • Steep and inaccessible terrain.
