CA-SQF- Maggie Fire MIST 70 foot tall, 48” diameter White Fir tree with a half-acre ground fire

 A fire on the Golden Trout Wilderness in Sequoia National Forest was discovered yesterday.    The fire is burning in a 70 foot tall, 48” diameter White Fir tree with a half-acre ground fire surrounding it. At this time, a 20-person hand crew is taking action to stop the spread of the fire.

Crews are using Minimum Impact Suppression Tactics (MIST) because they are in a wilderness area.

Location: - East of Maggie Mountain twelve miles northeast of Springville. Golden Trout Wilderness in Sequoia National Forest.
