FIRE JOBS: LACFD APPLICATION FILING STARTS ON 01/21/2015 AT 1:00 P.M.

LACFD APPLICATION FILING STARTS ON 01/21/2015 AT 1:00 P.M. (PST) AND WILL BE SUSPENDED ON 01/23/2015 AT 1:00 P.M. (PST).

We have posted the Los Angeles County Fire Department’s Fire Fighter Trainee Exam job announcement. Thank you for your interest in joining this noble and rewarding profession as a member of our firefighting ranks. Los Angeles County firefighters enjoy an internationally renowned reputation for being the best. Each day in communities across Los Angeles County, they provide a lifesaving service. When not responding to emergencies, our firefighters serve and support their communities in other helpful ways. I have served as a member of our Department for over 30 years. Join the team!

Get the edge you need by taking the CPAT first.

In order to submit your application to the County of Los Angeles, you will need to have current and valid Candidate Physical Ability Test, or CPAT.
CPAT certification is valid for 12 months from the effective date. We do not accept the Biddle Ability Test in place of the CPAT. We will accept a CPAT certificate from out of state as long as it was obtained from a facility or organization that is licensed by the International Association of Fire Fighters.

****REMINDER**** Every fire has the ability to be catastrophic. The wildland fire management environment has profoundly changed. Growing numbers of communities, across the nation, are experiencing longer fire seasons; more frequent, bigger, and more severe, fires are a real threat. Be careful with all campfires and equipment.
