MOUNTAINS AND ADJACENT FOOTHILLS OF LOS ANGELES...VENTURA...AND
SANTA BARBARA COUNTY MOUNTAINS DUE TO VERY HOT AND UNSTABLE
CONDITIONS WITH MODERATELY LOW HUMIDITIES..
.A PROLONGED HEAT WAVE WILL CONTINUE ACROSS SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
THROUGH TUESDAY. THE VERY HOT AND UNSTABLE CONDITIONS COMBINED
WITH MODERATELY LOW HUMIDITIES WILL BRING THE POTENTIAL FOR LARGE
PLUME DOMINATED FIRE GROWTH OVER THE LOCAL MOUNTAINS AND ADJACENT
FOOTHILLS IF FIRE IGNITION OCCURS. POOR HUMIDITY RECOVERIES AND
WARM TEMPERATURES AT NIGHT WILL ADD TO THE FIRE DANGER ACROSS THE
MOUNTAINS AND ADJACENT FOOTHILLS. WEAK SUNDOWNER WINDS WITH GUSTS
IN THE 20 TO 30 MPH RANGE WILL ADD TO THE FIRE DANGER ACROSS THE
SANTA BARBARA COUNTY MOUNTAINS AND ADJACENT FOOTHILLS DURING THE
NIGHTTIME HOURS THROUGH TUESDAY NIGHT.

OVERNIGHT LOWS IN THE 70S TO AROUND 80 ACROSS LOWER ELEVATIONS.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...MINIMUM HUMIDITY 15 TO 25 PERCENT TODAY.
SLIGHTLY HIGHER TUESDAY. POOR OVERNIGHT RECOVERIES IN THE
MOUNTAINS AND ADJACENT FOOTHILLS.
* WINDS...NORTHWEST 10 TO 20 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 30 MPH THROUGH
PASSES AND CANYONS OF THE SANTA YNEZ RANGE AND ADJACENT
FOOTHILLS EACH NIGHT THROUGH TUESDAY. UPSLOPE/UPVALLEY WINDS
6-12 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 20 MPH DURING DAYTIME HOURS.
* FIRE BEHAVIOR...ANY FIRE IGNITION WILL HAVE THE POTENTIAL FOR
LARGE PLUME DOMINATED GROWTH OVER THE MOUNTAINS DUE TO HOT
TEMPERATURES...LOW HUMIDITIES...INSTABILITY...AND EXTREMELY DRY
FUELS.
* IMPACTS...IF FIRE IGNITION OCCURS...THERE COULD BE RAPID
SPREAD OF WILDFIRE THAT WOULD LEAD TO A THREAT TO LIFE AND
PROPERTY.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS..
A RED FLAG WARNING MEANS THAT CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS
ARE EXPECTED. THIS IN COMBINATION WITH VERY DRY FUELS COULD
