Light initial attack report in the GACC yesterday. No Planned Rx Fires to report.
CA-SHU Gulch Fire: 30 acres burning in brush, 0% contained. Located on Backbone Ridge in Jones Valley 15 miles northeast of Redding, CA. Moderate rate of spread. Temperature 96 degrees, 10% RH, winds north at 11 gusting 20. Multiple structures threatened.
CA-KNF Happy Camp Complex: 105,194 acres, 30% contained. Inversion set in until 1500 hours, then fire activity increased with isolated torching and short crown runs into the evening hours. Crews made good progress towards containment of the fire to the east of Scott River Road. Structure defense remains in place. On the west and northwest sides of the fire, crews continue patrol and mop up.
CA-KNF July Complex: 45,047 acres, 78% contained. Man Fire: critical factors of winds, slope, and extremely dry and breezy fire weather have created active fire behavior with single and multi-tree torching, spotting and short crown fire activity. Gusty northeast to north ridge winds expected today, with poor humidity recovery.

CA-YNP Meadow Fire: CA-YNP-00101, Mariposa County,
Little Yosemite Valley between Half Dome and Mount Starr King
4532 acres, 10% contained
Type 2 Central Sierra IMT 2 (Cooper) in command.

Active Wildland wilderness fire currently within Little Yosemite Valley between Half Dome and Mount Starr King on both sides of the Merced River.
Recreation and businesses remain open in the Yosemite National Park except trail areas listed below.
100 hikers and backpackers were evacuated yesterday. Fire is burning on both sides of the Merced River.
Little Yosemite Valley Campground is closed
Sunrise High Sierra Camp and Merced Lake High Sierra Camp closures in effect.
Crews are spike out with a 4 hour hike into the fire area.
Extensive measures are being taken not to attract bears to food and supplies.
Commitment of Forest Service air and ground resources
Last night’s IR flight shows significant heat on the Northwest flank of the fire.
