ONCC Red Flag Warning Northern Sierras and Western Mountains Gusty Winds & Low Humidity #CaFire

The National Weather Service has issued Red Flag warnings for gusty winds and low humidities beginning at 2200 tonight and continuing through 1500 on Thursday. Fire Weather Watch is in place for portions of the Northern Sierras and western mountains for gusty winds and low humidities.

* WINDS...EAST 10 TO 20 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 45 MPH.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...AS LOW AS 5 TO 10 PERCENT. POOR HUMIDITY
  RECOVERY INTO THE 20S.

* AFFECTED AREA: FIRE ZONE 507 NORTH BAY MOUNTAINS ABOVE 1000 FEET
  IN NAPA...MARIN AND SONOMA COUNTIES. THE STRONGEST WINDS ARE EXPECTED
  OVER THE NAPA COUNTY HILLS AS WELL AS ALONG THE LAKE COUNTY BORDER OF
  SONOMA COUNTY NEAR MOUNT SAINT HELENA.

* TIMING: FROM 10 PM WEDNESDAY NIGHT UNTIL 3 PM THURSDAY AFTERNOON.

* WIND: NORTH TO NORTHEAST WIND 10 TO 20 MPH WITH FREQUENT GUSTS
  FROM 30 TO 40 MPH OVER THE RIDGES.

* HUMIDITY: STEADY FROM 10 TO 25 PERCENT DURING THE WARNING HOURS.

* IMPACTS: THE COMBINATION OF DRY FUELS...GUSTY WINDS AND LOW
  HUMIDITY WILL CREATE CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS WHERE
  ANY NEW IGNITIONS WILL EXPERIENCE RAPID FIRE GROWTH.
