Despite being charged with a felony, the district attorney has not yet officially filed charges in court.
“One of the things we do is discourage criminal activity. We do undercover operations to send out a message that criminal activity is not welcome in Roseville,” said Roseville Police Dept. spokesperson Dee Dee Gunther. And if you come to Roseville to commit crime, you’re very likely to get arrested.”

ROSEVILLE, Calif. (KCRA) —A battalion chief with Cal Fire was arrested in a drug detail operation in Roseville, KCRA 3 confirmed Tuesday.

Battalion Chief Wright was arrested in the 200 block of Harding Boulevard on Sept. 30 on suspicion of the sale or transport of drugs, according to the Roseville Police Department.
"He was one of three different people arrested," said DeeDee Gunther, a Roseville police spokeswoman

Wright is now on "accumulated leave," said Daniel Berlant, a spokesman with Cal Fire.

"That means he is using his own personal time. A decision has not yet been made on his status because he is using his accumulated leave," Berlant said.

Berlant said Wright was not on duty at the time of the arrest.

The district attorney's office has not yet reviewed the case, nor has it filed formal criminal charges, according to Gunther.

Berlant said Wright, who has been with Cal Fire since 2006, is scheduled to return to work in mid-November.

****REMINDER**** Every fire has the ability to be catastrophic. The wildland fire management environment has profoundly changed. Growing numbers of communities, across the nation, are experiencing longer fire seasons; more frequent, bigger, and more severe, fires are a real threat. Be careful with all campfires and equipment.

"I am a firm believer in the people. If given the truth, they can be depended upon to meet any national crisis. The great point is to bring them the real facts, and beer." --Abraham Lincoln
