MEDIA DAY FOR THE FIREFIGHTING AIRCRAFT
AVAILABLE FOR THE 2013 FIRE SEASON
Los Angeles County Fifth District Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich, Third District Supervisor Zev Yarolslavsky, and Fire Chief Daryl L. Osby of the Los Angeles County Fire Department are hosting a media day to highlight the firefighting aircraft resources that are available for the 2013 fire season. Speakers will discuss the recent arrival of the two Canadian CL-415 “Super-Scoopers” and the Erickson Air-Crane “Helitanker” firefighting aircraft that compliment the existing fleet of air resources of the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The media will have an opportunity to speak to representatives from the Fire Department who can explain the firefighting roles that all of the aircraft will play with the worst of the fire season likely yet to come for 2013. The pilots and air crew members will be available for interviews.
