El Dorado County: Six Year Old Boy Found Deceased at Jenkinson Lake underwater, approximately 10 feet from shore. #CaSAR

 Date: July 22, 2013

On Sunday (July 21, 2013) Sheriff’s Deputies, Sheriff's marine units, US Forest Rangers, a USFS Canine unit, Fire Department personnel and a CHP Helicopter responded to a report that a six year old boy had gone missing along the shore of Jenkinson Lake in the Bumpy Meadows picnic area, at approximately 4:00 pm. El Dorado Irrigation personnel and visitors to the lake were already searching the area for the child.

The child was visiting the lake with his father and sister. He was last seen playing in the water with his sister.

Unfortunately at about 5:20 pm, searchers found six year old Trip Demetri of Latrobe, California, underwater, approximately 10 feet from shore. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
