Video: Russian Military Depot Fire Injures 30 - 13 million ammo shells are stored at the site

At least 11 people hospitalized and more than 600 emergency workers trying to put military depot fire out

Large explosions rock an ammunition depot in Russia's Samara Region, where over 13 million shells are stored. The police have started evacuation of the nearby communities.

Exploding shells set off a fire that was triggering explosions Wednesday at a military depot in southern Russia, injuring about 30 people and causing the evacuation of more than 6,000 from a nearby village, investigators and emergency workers said.

At least 11 of the injured have been hospitalized and more than 600 emergency workers are battling the blaze.

The cause of the fire has not been determined yet.

****REMINDER**** Every fire has the ability to be catastrophic. The wildland fire management environment has profoundly changed. Growing numbers of communities, across the nation, are experiencing longer fire seasons; more frequent, bigger, and more severe, fires are a real threat. Be careful with all campfires and equipment.

"I am a firm believer in the people. If given the truth, they can be depended upon to meet any national crisis. The great point is to bring them the real facts, and beer." --Abraham Lincoln
