CA-CND-#KeyesFire 68 acres 50% containment potential 100+ acres vegetation fire has crossed 155 #CaFire

 CA-CND-Keyes Wildland Fire

Incident Overview
The Keyes Fire began approximately 3:30PM PST in the Keyesville area near the town of Lake Isabella, CA on Bureau of Land Management (BLM) land, between the Kern River and Hwy 178.
 It was initially sized up at 10 to 15 acres and grew to 35 acres in the first hour. Fire resources are actively fighting the fire. The fire is in steep, rocky terrain with difficult access for firefighters.
 It is burning in grass and brush with a moderate rate of spread. Winds are reported at 10 to 15 mph out of the southwest. Some spotting was reported at about 5PM.
 Expect intermittent closures of Highway 178 between Black Gulch and Hwy 155. Please drive carefully and be aware of firefighting vehicles in the area. (Updated 5PM Wed.)

Update 0800 6-27: OSCC Keys FireKeys Fire, Kernville, Kern County, Keyesville, Kernville 68+ acres 50% percent containment
Update 2400: Approx 75 acres 0% containment Approx 165 Personnel, Per FB "The fire has been held at around 75 acres at this time, and all Kern County resources will be off the fire lines by 9pm. US Forest Service and BLM firefighters will be on scene through the night and during the day tomorrow to keep the hot spots at bay."
Update 2100: Approx 75 acres per Kern County Fire
Update 1700: OSCC Keys Fire, Kernville, Kern County,
Keyesville, Kernville, Between the Kern River & Hwy 178
Start Time: 06-26-2013 @15:00 hrs. 35+ acres (revised) 0% percent containment potential 100+ acres. A 2 acre spot occurred across HWY 155 and was quickly contained with line around it. power lines in the area, old abandon mine shafts.
Update 1645: Per AA : Releasing ATs - 74, 75 back to Paso Robles AAB; 43 released back to Porterville AAB; 41 canceled and returning to Santa Maria AAB; 76, 78 on a Load and Hold at Porterville AAB. Wildfire has crossed 155 and closing 155 on the area of the fire. KRN is going to be sending an Immediate Need Type 3 Strike Team.
