Two survivors of the fatal limousine fire Saturday night in the Bay Area that killed five women are listed in critical condition, according to hospital officials.

Jasmine Desguia, 34, of San Jose and Amalia Loyola, 48, of San Leandro were taken to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, officials said. They were being treated for smoke inhalation and burns.

Two other victims, Mary Guardiano, 42, of Alameda and Nelia Arellano, 36, of Oakland, were taken to Stanford Medical Center, authorities said. Their conditions are unknown. The driver -- Orville Brown, 46, of San Jose, was not injured.

The five women who died in the blaze have not been identified, pending notification of relatives, officials said.

The group was taking part in a bachelorette party. The bride-to-be was among those who died in the fire, San Mateo County Coroner Robert Foucrault told the San Jose Mercury News.

Shortly after 10 p.m., it appears the back of the 1999 Lincoln Town Car limousine caught fire while crossing the San Mateo-Hayward bridge, officials said. The flames quickly spread to the front of the vehicle.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire.

****REMINDER**** Every fire has the ability to be catastrophic. The wildland fire management environment has profoundly changed. Growing numbers of communities, across the nation, are experiencing longer fire seasons; more frequent, bigger, and more severe, fires are a real threat. Be careful with all campfires and equipment.

"I am a firm believer in the people. If given the truth, they can be depended upon to meet any national crisis. The great point is to bring them the real facts, and beer." --Abraham Lincoln
