• Effective immediately, CAL FIRE is rescinding CAL FIRE Safety Communication 2013-01, 2013 CDF Air to Ground Tone Protection Changes.
• Due to concerns of interoperability with cooperators, CAL FIRE will not use CTCSS tones on the CDF Air to Ground frequency, 151.2200 MHz.
• The CDF Air to Ground frequency, without CTCSS tones, will continue to be used as the primary Air to Ground frequency for CAL FIRE incidents.
• Once at scene, if aviation resources are unable to use the pre-assigned CDF Air to Ground Frequency due to a high volume of traffic from a separate incident, they may request a new Air to Ground Frequency.
• Reprograming of CAL FIRE mobile and handheld radios is not required.
• Reprograming of CAL FIRE Aviation Radios will be required and coordinated with Air Attack and Helitack Bases.
