CA-BTU-Onion Escaped Controlled Burn, 27 acres Making progress with hose lays and dozer lines #CaFire

Update 4-24 0730hrs: 27 acres, 50% contained, Nine engines, six water trucks, one bulldozer and four hand crews worked the fire on the ground on Tuesday. A helicopter was also assigned to the blaze. Personnel fighting the fire total 115.
Update 1630hrs: Estimated Containment: 1800 Hours
Acreage - 20
Containment - 25%

Current Situation - Making progress with hose lays and dozer lines. Strong down-canyon winds are contributing to spotting and torching conditions. The incident commander does not anticipate any additional resource orders.
Update 1430hrs:
Units now report 20-30 acres. Moving into heavy timber with spotting and crowning observed. 
Structures: are not currently threatened.


Location: Butte County, Butte Meadows, K-Line/T-140  southwest of Onion Butte
ROS: 3-4 Acres 
ROC: Escaped Controlled Burn
Special Hazards:
Cause: Formally under investigation, but early radio traffic indicated a controlled burn of logging slash piles had escaped.
Resources:
5 engines (some from LNF), 2 dozers, 3 crews, 1 copter on order.
