CA-RRU- PINYON Wildland Fire - 7 acres 100%

Update: 3/16/2013 08:00 a.m.: Fire contained at 6:00 a.m. One engine, one fire crew and one water tender will be on scene today.
Update: 
 8:00 p.m. Fire is 80% contained. Full containment expected by 6:00 a.m. March 15th. 

PINYON fire was reported about 2:30 p.m. north of Highway 74 and Highway 371 in Riverside County, Seven acres burned before forward spread stopped about 4 p.m.
Firefighters had 80 percent of the blaze contained by 8 p.m., according to CalFire.
10 fire engines with 77 firefighters are battling the blaze.
No buildings are threatened and there have not been any reports of injuries.

Current Situation: Update 3/16/2013 08:00 a.m.: Fire contained at 6:00 a.m. One engine, one fire crew and one water tender will be on scene today. Update 8:00 p.m.: Fire is 80% contained. Full containment expected by 6:00 a.m. March 15th. Update 4:55 p.m. - The fire is 70% contained. Firefighters will remain on scene for approximately 4-5 hours for overhaul. Update 4:13 p.m. - The forward rate of spread has stopped at 7 acres. Update 3:52 p.m. - The fire is now seven acres and holding. CAL FIRE/Riverside, along with the USFS (San Bernardino) is on scene of a wildland fire in the Pinyon area. The fire is currently six acres and burning at a moderate rate. No structure threat. Updates will be posted as information becomes available.
