The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, Morongo Basin Station, is seeking the public's assistance in locating 19 year old Jonathon Allen Norton, a missing person. Although he is an adult, Norton suffers from a diminished mental capacity and is reported to have the approximate functional capabilities of a twelve year old.
Norton left his residence on 2/16/13 at approximately 0900 and may have walked to the Yucca Valley Library. Norton regularly stays at the library throughout the day and returns home in the late afternoon. Norton frequents the Yucca Valley Community Center, but may also be at or around the Joshua Springs Church (Yucca Valley) or the Joshua Tree Memorial Park (60121 29 Palms Hwy, Joshua Tree).
Norton is approximately 5'8" tall, 170 pounds with spiked brown hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a white checkered jacket and blue jeans. A photograph of Norton is attached to this email.
Anyone who sees Norton, or has information on his whereabouts, is asked to call the Morongo Basin Sheriff's Station at (760) 366-4175 or dispatch at (760) 365-2364.
