Current Situation:Update 4:07 p.m. - The fire was contained to five (5) acres at approximately 3:00 p.m. The cause of the fire was determined to be from spontaneous combustion from heavy piles of mulch, debris and green waste. Firefighters will be committed to the scene through the evening for full control. No injuries reported. Update 12:09 p.m. - The fire is now 3-5 acres. The fire is progressing at a slow rate. Firefighters will be committed for approximately six hours. Updates will be posted as information becomes available. CAL FIRE/Riverside County firefighters responded to a wildland fire. First arriving engine company reported two acres of heavy brush on fire, moving at a moderate rate of spread.
