 Army Sgt. Kimberly Boyce helps unload hoses to help pump water out basements at a housing complex during Hurricane Sandy recovery efforts in Rockaway, N.Y., Nov. 7, 2012. 
 Residents there have been without power since the hurricane hit the Northeast last week. Boyce's unit deployed into the area to support the Federal Emergency Management Agency, and state and local officials.
