Lake Tahoe: NLTFPD conducting pile burns

NORTH LAKE TAHOE FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT 
“Pile Burning To Start October 23rd through End of Week” 

 The North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District is planning on conducting pile burns on Tuesday, October 23rd through Thursday, October 25th, depending on proper weather conditions and fuel moisture content.  

 The pile burns will be in the Wood Creek, Mill Creek and upper part of Saddlehorn. The Wood Creek pile burn area is approximately 20 acres, the Mill Creek pile burn area is approximately 8 acres and the Saddlehorn pile burn area is approximately 15 acres.

 Smoke resulting from the pile burns will affect the surrounding areas for approximately 24-36 hours. People
that are smoke sensitive are advised to please stay inside and close their windows and doors as much as
possible until the smoke dissipates.
