Citizen LODD: Found Dead Fighting Wildfire With Tractor.

A 59 year old Cambria man was found dead by Cal Fire crews Tuesday afternoon.
The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office says it all started when Cal Fire responded to a brush fire in the 5000 block of Santa Rosa Creek Road in Cambria.
Upon arrival, they located Wade Lee Rhoades of Cambria who was unresponsive. Deputies say Rhoades had collapsed on a tractor he had been using to fight the fire prior to the arrival of Cal Fire.
Cal Fire says they immediately began medical aid, but efforts to revive him failed.
The cause of death is still to be determined by San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Coroner investigators.
The fire burned less than a quarter of an acre and was started by a rancher welding corral fencing on the property adjacent to the road.

****REMINDER**** Every fire has the ability to be catastrophic. The wildland fire management environment has profoundly changed. Growing numbers of communities, across the nation, are experiencing longer fire seasons; more frequent, bigger, and more severe, fires are a real threat. Be careful with all campfires and equipment.

"I am a firm believer in the people. If given the truth, they can be depended upon to meet any national crisis. The great point is to bring them the real facts, and beer." --Abraham Lincoln
