CA-BTU-Windy WildlandFire CA-BTU Windy Fire - 97 acres, 100%

Butte County – CAL FIRE/Butte County Fire Department is currently working on a 100 acre Fire that was reported at 1600hrs yesterday

Where: The fire is burning in a remote area located in the Deer Creek Canyon near Windy Cut.

What:  The fire is burning in Timber slash. There are no residents threatened or evacuations ordered, however there are a number of outbuildings that are
threatened.

Who: CAL FIRE/Butte County Fire battling the wildland fire. Fire is being staffed by approximately 164 fire personnel, including an Air Attack, four Air Tankers, two Helicopters, ten Engines, six water tenders, four Dozers and four Strike Teams of Hand Crews.

Why: The cause of the fire is currently under investigation and there is no estimate on time of
containment.
“The windy conditions will continue throughout this evening, challenging the firefighters in their
efforts”, stated Chief Emerick.
