SLO: suspendes all burning, including agricultural, until further notice.

San Luis Obispo County, CA -- San Luis Obispo County/Cal Fire yesterday suspended all burning, including agricultural, forest management, hazard abatement and other industrial-type burning, until further notice. This is because of the increased winds and unseasonably hot weather we’ll be experienced this week.

Campfires within organized campgrounds or on private property are okay, so long as the campfire can’t spread into wild-land vegetation. Cal Fire will staff seven engines with additional personnel starting today.

****REMINDER**** Every fire has the ability to be catastrophic. The wildland fire management environment has profoundly changed. Growing numbers of communities, across the nation, are experiencing longer fire seasons; more frequent, bigger, and more severe, fires are a real threat. Be careful with all campfires and equipment.
