VA/MCI San Bernardino County 7 fatalities and 18 injured

At least eight people were killed when an off-road race truck plowed into a crowd in southern California on Saturday night, authorities said.
Six were pronounced dead at the scene around 7:48 p.m. local time, said Tim Franke of the San Bernardino County Fire Department. The California Highway Patrol said Sunday the final death toll was eight.
Four more were transported to hospitals via air ambulance in serious condition. Five others were transported with minor to moderate injuries.
Eight air ambulances and several engine companies responded to the scene.
The race was in the Lucerne Valley area of San Bernardino County, Franke said.

****REMINDER**** Every fire has the ability to be catastrophic. The wildland fire management environment has profoundly changed. Growing numbers of communities, across the nation, are experiencing longer fire seasons; more frequent, bigger, and more severe, fires are a real threat. Be careful with all campfires and equipment.

"I am a firm believer in the people. If given the truth, they can be depended upon to meet any national crisis. The great point is to bring them the real facts, and beer." --Abraham Lincoln
