Comments: Update 7/18/2010 - 08:00 - Fire was declared 100% contained at 7:00 a.m. this morning. Full control expected 07/19/2010 by 8:00 p.m. Final size - 706 acres. 3 engines and 6 fire crews assigned today. Next update will be at 08:00 7/19/2010 unless significant activity on this incident occurs.. Update 7/17/2010 10:00 p.m. - No change in status or acreage. UPDATE 7/17/2010 07:44 a.m. - The Cactus fire is now 50% contained. The mapped acreage remains at 647. Fire crews will concentrate on improving the S/W area of the fire and continue to overhaul and improve line construction around the fire. UPDATE 7/16/2010 5:30 p.m. - The Cactus fire remains at 30% containment. The mapped updated size is 647 acres. This will be the final posting for this operational period unless significant events dictate otherwise. The next update will be posted tomorrow, 7/17/2010 at 08:00 a.m. UPDATE 7/16/2010 7:30 A.M. - Fire is now 490 acres and 30% contained. Air and ground firefighting resources assigned today. Minimal fire activity. Updates will continue to be posted as information becomes available. Evacuation orders were lifted at 10:00 p.m. last night (7/15). The evacuation center is closed. UPDATE 8:30 p.m. 350 acres, 10% contained. Mandatory evacuations off or Cactus Valley and R3, Limb Road and Old Ranch Road. Residents will not be allowed back into the area until further notice. Evacuation Center is located at Hemet High School, Stetson Ave. X Stanford Ave in Hemet. UPDATE 1855 250 Acres UPDATE 1741 100 acres UPDATE 1514 75 acres heavy fuel, moderate rate of spread. CAL FIRE and Riverside County Firefighters are responding to multiple fires, in the Sage, Anza and Pinyon area. The Cactus Fire was reported via an air tanker enroute to a fire in San Diego County.
