SAR: Woman, 77, missing in the Point Reyes National Seashore

Woman, 77, missing at Pt. Reyes

POINT REYES NATIONAL SEASHORE, Calif. — Authorities are looking for a 77-year-old woman who has gone missing in the Point Reyes National Seashore.
Marin County sheriff's officials say Silvia Lang of Nicasio was last seen Saturday night.
Her car was found in a beach parking lot the next afternoon with two of her dogs inside. A third dog was nearby with its leash hung up on some rocks.
Search and rescue teams combed the area through the night, but still haven't found the woman.
Friends say Lang is an experienced hiker who used to work for the National Park Service and trains dogs for the disabled.
Two weeks ago, 37-year-old Katherine Truitt of Alameda went missing around McClures Beach, eight miles to the north of where Lang's car was found. Truitt hasn't been found.

****REMINDER**** Every fire has the ability to be catastrophic. The wildland fire management environment has profoundly changed. Growing numbers of communities, across the nation, are experiencing longer fire seasons; more frequent, bigger, and more severe, fires are a real threat. Be careful with all campfires and equipment.

"I am a firm believer in the people. If given the truth, they can be depended upon to meet any national crisis. The great point is to bring them the real facts, and beer." --Abraham Lincoln
