Coffin Fire Incident Information: 25 structures threatened
-Fire is burning in steep rugged terrian in private timber lands and towards the town of Lewiston. Fire is spreading towards Hwy 299. Experiencing 1/4 mile to 1/2 mile spotting ahead of the fire.
-Critical infastructure at risk include High Tension Power Lines, the Town of Lewiston, and Grass Valley Watershed.
-Initial reports are for Type I hand crews due to the steep rugged terrian.
-Major problems include potential spread into the Town of Lewiston, evacuation of residents of Lewiston and surrounding Communities.
-Fire made runs to the north and south today. Spotting was observed 1/4 mile to 1/2 mile in front of the fire. Fire has jumped Trinity Dam Blvd.
-Fire is making moderate progress and grew to 1200 acres in the first three hours
