EDIS ALERT: Strong winds/Blowing dust/Low visibilities moving toward the San Diego deserts this evening

Dangerous Strong winds... blowing dust and low visibilities moving toward the lower deserts, San Diego deserts, Cochella Valley this evening - Interstate 10 will be impacted with near zero visibility this evening.

Update: The Blowing Dust Advisory was allowed to expire at 8 PM

IT IS FORECAST TO REACH THE SAN DIEGO COUNTY DESERTS BETWEEN 730 PM AND 800 PM.
STRONG OUTFLOW WINDS TO 45 MPH HAVE GENERATED A LARGE AREA OF BLOWING DUST ACROSS IMPERIAL COUNTY WHICH HAS REDUCED VISIBILITIES TO LESS THAN A MILE AT TIMES. THIS AREA OF BLOWING DUST IS FORECAST TO REACH THE SAN DIEGO COUNTY DESERTS AND THE COACHELLA VALLEY THIS EVENING. ... BLOWING DUST ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM PDT THIS EVENING... THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SAN DIEGO HAS ISSUED A BLOWING DUST ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM PDT THIS EVENING. A STRONG THUNDERSTORM OVER SOUTHWEST ARIZONA HAS GENERATED STRONG WINDS AND A LARGE AREA OF BLOWING DUST IN IMPERIAL COUNTY THIS EVENING. VISIBILITIES WERE REDUCED TO ONE MILE AT EL CENTRO... AND TO ONE QUARTER MILE AT YUMA. THIS AREA OF STRONG WINDS WAS MOVING WEST TOWARD THE SAN DIEGO COUNTY DESERTS AND THE COACHELLA VALLEY. IT IS FORECAST TO REACH THE SAN DIEGO COUNTY DESERTS BETWEEN 730 PM AND 800 PM... AND THEN MOVE INTO SOUTHERN SECTIONS OF THE COACHELLA VALLEY BETWEEN 8 AND 830 PM. A BRIEF PERIOD OF REDUCED VISIBILITIES FROM ONE QUARTER TO ONE MILE IS LIKELY WITH THE ONSET OF THE STRONG WINDS. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... &&

Instruction:
A BLOWING DUST ADVISORY MEANS THAT BLOWING DUST WILL RESTRICT VISIBILITIES. MOTORISTS ON INTERSTATE 10 IN THE COACHELLA VALLEY ARE URGED TO USE CAUTION IF POOR VISIBILITIES IN BLOWING DUST ARE ENCOUNTERED THIS EVENING.
