Books: I Survived a House Fire...I Wish My Stuff Had.

How to prepare for and survive a devastating event with more than memories.

If you have ever suffered a home fire loss, you know the related sense of helplessness that follows. Whether you lose one room or everything you possess, a fire in your home is devastating. Mine was. Our homes are our personal sanctuaries. They are the places we feel safest.

This book is a personal reflection and a pro-active how-to-guide that can help you make your home safer, and can perhaps help you minimize your loss in the event of a disaster. With the help of my family of fire-fighters, I’ll take you room by room, in the typical home, and provide ways of preventing fires, protecting and insuring belongings, and assisting you in the development of a plan of action in case of fire.

You’ll learn how to create an inventory and document your possessions; you’ll be prompted to think about a grab and go list in each room in the event you have to leave in a hurry; and, you’ll walk away with a heightened awareness of what you need to consider when you look throughout your home and consider protecting it, your loved ones and your belongings.

"This near tragedy will help prevent others in the future. The lessons that Candace Quinn has laid out here are intended to save others the grief she has suffered, and will save lives if people heed her well documented advice. Sprinkler! Sprinkler! Sprinkler! "

****REMINDER**** Every fire has the ability to be catastrophic. The wildland fire management environment has profoundly changed. Growing numbers of communities, across the nation, are experiencing longer fire seasons; more frequent, bigger, and more severe, fires are a real threat. Be careful with all campfires and equipment.

"I am a firm believer in the people. If given the truth, they can be depended upon to meet any national crisis. The great point is to bring them the real facts, and beer." --Abraham Lincoln
