BURN AREA MUD, DEBRIS FLOWS POSSIBLE
A mandatory evacuation order is now in effect due to the heavy rainfall which may lead to mud and debris flows in and below burn areas.
Evacuation Areas: This evacuation order covers the Box Canyon, Brush Canyon, North Fairmont/San Antonio areas, as well as the commercial structures west of Via del Rio and north of La Palma.
Displaced residents: A shelter for displaced residents is available at the Thomas Lasorda Field House at 4701 Casa Loma Avenue.
Displaced Animals: Animals may be sheltered at Orange County Animal Care Services by calling (714) 935-6848.
Local officials will be monitoring the surrounding terrain, watershed from the Chino Hills State Park, and current soil conditions.
Residents who wish to receive alerts (via AlertOC) on their cell phones, text numbers and e-mail addresses must register at www.alertoc.com. Otherwise, the AlertOC telephone noticing system will only send messages to residential landline telephones.
PUBLIC WORKS HOTLINE
The Yorba Linda Public Works Department has established a new information hotline for residents with questions about potential mud and debris flows. The number is (714) 961-7114. Public Works staff will be responding to messages left on this line as soon as possible.
