Lompoc: Plane down, Pilot killed

IA: 2:45 p.m. - Private plane down, near the Lompoc airport .
Location: The single engine plane went down at North D Street and Canfield behind the Mervyn's store near the Lompoc airport.
Victim: James Foley of Lompoc - According to the Lompoc Fire Department, the pilot was taken to Lompoc Hospital in critical condition, where he later died. he is believed to be in his mid-60s.
Current sizeup: Planes is broken in half on ground, Pilot in full cardiac arrest, Power lines are down in the area near the crash site, and power is expected to be out for the next few hours.
Weather: No fog - clear
