CA-MVU-Couser - Brush Fire - 45 acres 100%

Brush fire near Rice Canyon Rd East of Fallbrook in North San Diego County.

FINAL UPDATE: 01:00hrs - Cal Fire reports that the fire was contained at about midnight. 3 engines and 2 crews for day shift, crews will be pulling hose and mopping up today.

UPDATE: 16:30hrs - Making good progress, 40-45 acres, 1 Air tanker at scene one AT on hold.

UPDATE: 15:30hrs - Cal Fire reports the fire is now at 25 acres and they have retardant around about 75% of it. Helicopters currently working hot spots along flanks. Currently the fire isn’t threatening homes, crews are expected to be on it all night.

Location: 1 mile northeast of the intersection of SR-76 and Couser Canyon Road.
Initial Sizeup: 14:30hrs - 10 acres, difficult Access, Fire is under the power lines in light to medium fuels. Light West wind
Threats: No current structure threat.
Resources: Approx 125 firefighters at the scene or en route, Full wildland Aircraft response, Resource request for 4 handcrews.
