A RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM PDT THIS EVENING. THESE WARMER TEMPERATURES COMBINED WITH A VERY DRY ATMOSPHERE WILL BRING 10 OR MORE HOURS OF RELATIVE HUMIDITIES BELOW 10 PERCENT FOR INLAND AREAS TODAY WITH LOWEST RELATIVE HUMIDITIES IN THE INLAND VALLEYS AND ON LOWER COASTAL MOUNTAIN SLOPES. SIMILAR CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED TO CONTINUE THURSDAY AND FRIDAY WITH CONTINUED POOR OVERNIGHT RECOVERY OF HUMIDITIES FOR INLAND AREAS AND SEVERAL HOURS OF RELATIVE HUMIDITIES BELOW 10 PERCENT FROM LATE MORNING THROUGH EARLY EVENING EACH DAY. THERE WILL CONTINUE TO BE WEAK OFFSHORE WINDS AT TIMES THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING WITH GUSTS TO AROUND 25 MPH AT TIMES THROUGH AND BELOW PASSES AND CANYONS. GREATEST COVERAGE FOR THESE WINDS WILL BE IN AREAS FAVORED FOR EASTERLY OFFSHORE FLOW...THROUGH THE BANNING PASS AND IN THE SAN DIEGO COUNTY MOUNTAINS AND INLAND VALLEYS. A WEAK TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE IS EXPECTED TO BRING COOLING AND HIGHER HUMIDITIES FOR THE WEEKEND.

****REMINDER**** Every fire has the ability to be catastrophic. The wildland fire management environment has profoundly changed. Growing numbers of communities, across the nation, are experiencing longer fire seasons; more frequent, bigger, and more severe, fires are a real threat. Be careful with all campfires and equipment.

"I am a firm believer in the people. If given the truth, they can be depended upon to meet any national crisis. The great point is to bring them the real facts, and beer." --Abraham Lincoln
