CA-MCP-409 - Wildland fire - 400+ acres 40%

Location: Camp Pendleton, off Roblar Road near the center of the base.
IA: Initial size up of 20-30 acres in alignment, rapid rate of spread.
Fire sending up large column of smoke that could be seen for miles.
Resources: Two strike teams of 10 engines and trucks from around North County and the U.S. Forest Service assisted in fighting the fire, along with two helicopters. Crews had the blaze 40 percent contained last night, and the assisting agencies were released.

Notes: No injuries or structure threats, fire is not expected to leave the base.
