LANCASTER, Calif.—A Los Angeles County fire captain has died after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a pickup truck in Lancaster.
Los Angeles County sheriff's Lt. Stefanie Fredericks says Saturday night's wreck is under investigation, but apparently a Chevrolet pickup truck pulled into an intersection—and into the path of a motorcycle being ridden by 55-year-old John Ellis.
His motorcycle struck the back of the truck. Ellis was declared dead at a nearby hospital. No one in the pickup was hurt.
