Start: approx 14:03hrs - CAL Fire investigators have determined that the vegetation fire appeared to have started about three miles northwest of Jamestown, originating in an old storage shed, jumped Mormon Creek and Investigator Rommie Jones says that it appears that the fire was human caused.
Update: 20:00hrs- 102+ acres, Forward spread stopped, Air show ending in 15 mins, resume tomorrow w/106 pending IC needs.
Update: 19:15hrs- Tanker 82 released, 19:36hrs-Tanker 88 diverted SCU fire then released at 19:50hrs.
Update: 1830hrs- Large column visible from Amador county, The fire is 100 plus acres in size and has jumped over Mormon Creek. It is headed in a north direction - The fire was burning north toward the Tuttletown area near French Flat Road.
Update: 1730hrs-DC-10 ordered up
Evacuations: Threat to nearly 200 homes including the historic Mark Twain cabin, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection. Fire is threatening structures in Tutlletown and Jackass Hill Area, one storage container burned, but no other structures were damaged as of 6:30 p.m. Sheriff's Office Deputies staging on scene pending evacuations.
Road closures: Hard road closure at Rawhide and French Flat roads.
Resources: Total resources as of about 3 p.m. were 11 fire engines, one dozer, two hand crews, one spotter plane, four air tankers, two helicopters and two water tenders, firefighting agencies from Tuolumne and Stanislaus counties were battling the wildfire, including crews from Modesto, Salida, Oakdale Rural and Stanislaus Consolidated fire agencies.
Air resources: Some air resources have been called in from outside the region, Helo 406, 106, Tanker 100, Tanker 82 88, 89, Four helicopters and four military aircraft, Four C-130 MAFFS Aircraft from the California National Guard, MAFFS on a hold at McClellan,
